1946

The Beginning

Western Philippine Colleges (WPC) was founded, planting the seeds of what would become a legacy of education and service.

1949

A Home in the Heart of the City

WPC transferred to its Downtown campus along MH Del Pilar, now home to the Grade School department.

1996

Becoming a University

WPC was granted university status and proudly renamed the University of Batangas.

1996

Dawn of University Presidency

Dr. Abelardo B. Perez was officially inaugurated as the first University President, taking the helm to guide the newly renamed University of Batangas toward global standards.

2007

Sustaining the Vision

Dr. Hernando B. Perez was formally installed as the second University President, dedicated to upholding the values and mission of the institution.

2009

Mark of Excellence

UB was conferred Autonomous Status, recognizing its academic strength and institutional maturity.

2010

Expanding Horizons

The UB Lipa City Campus was officially inaugurated, extending quality education to more Batangueños.

2016

Centers of Distinction

CHED recognized UB as a Center of Excellence for Teacher Education and a Center of Development for Business Administration.

2017

A New Campus, A New Chapter

The Millennium Campus was established, symbolizing UB’s continued growth and innovation.

2024

Leadership for the Future

Marlene Hernandez-Bohn was officially installed as the 3rd University President, ushering UB into a new era of leadership and vision.
