Ready to Gear Up for the Best Future? Celebrating Excellence at InnovED 2026

What happens when you give a student a single prompt and two hours to solve a global crisis? At InnovED 2026, we’re throwing out the traditional coding manual and handing over the keys to the future. No-code, high-impact, and powered by AI – see how our students are turning "Think IT" into "Build IT" in the blink of an eye.

Imagine building a functional, AI-powered application before your lunch break without writing a single line of code. It sounds like science fiction. However, for the students at the University of Batangas Lipa City, celebrating excellence through technology is becoming a reality. This comes to life on the first day of InnovED 2026, March 26, 2026.

Atty. Mayling Ilagan-Capuno delivers the Opening Remarks to officially jumpstart InnovED 2026

As we celebrate our 80th Founding Anniversary, we reflect on our Founder’s vision of providing quality education. Today, that legacy continues. We empower a new generation to build the best future for all. The Information Technology Center (ITC), UBBC College of Information and Communications Technology (CICT), and UBLC College of Information Technology, Entertainment, and Communication (CITEC) spearhead this big step toward the world of innovation. We aren’t just teaching students to use technology; instead, we are teaching them to command it.

Through Think IT, Prompt IT, Build IT: The InnovED 2026 Student Bootcamp, we bridge the gap between ideas and solutions. This event proves that anyone can build the future with the right prompt. Whether you are a tech enthusiast or a beginner, your shared purpose matters here.

UBians dive into AWS PartyRock and the AWS Cloud Club to kickstart their innovation journey

Fueling Excellence with AWS PartyRock Bootcamp

To kick things off, Mrs. Bernadet Macaraig, a faculty member of UBBC CICT, gears UBians up for the high-stakes Hackathon. She showcases the creative power of AWS PartyRock, specifically to shift the focus from theory to creation. Consequently, she demonstrates how to build social media generators and productivity-boosting text summarizers.

Mrs. Bernadet Macaraig introduces AWS PartyRock – a fast, fun playground powered by Amazon Bedrock for building AI-generated app

Further, she explores personalized travel planners and interactive quiz creators. To spark inspiration, Mrs. Macaraig flexes her own innovative creation. This AI app evaluates fashion styles in real time from photos and suggests instant enhancements, truly celebrating excellence in no-code development.

The Main Event: A Hackathon Celebrating Excellence

Armed with these insights, registered teams move to the war room for the afternoon Mini Hackathon. They have exactly two hours to define a pain point aligned with a Sustainable Development Goal (SDG). Meanwhile, they must develop a functional prototype that directly addresses the challenge.

Participants dive into the Hackathon proper, turning their AWS PartyRock creations into compelling pitch deck presentations

During this intense sprint, participants also prepare a compelling Pitch Deck. This presentation highlights their AI-driven solution and its potential impact. Ultimately, InnovED 2026 proves that you don’t need years of programming experience to change the world. You simply need the right prompt and the drive to build it.

Unleashing the Best Future for All

The InnovED 2026 Student Bootcamp and Hackathon stands as a powerful testament to both the history and the horizon of our university. We are not merely celebrating excellence; rather, we are actively forging the best future for all by bridging a legacy of greatness with the demands of a digital world. By embracing cutting-edge innovation like Artificial Intelligence, UBians prove they can adapt to global shifts while staying grounded in our Founders’ values.

(L-R) Mr. Alex A. Ramos, Senior Vice President; Ms. Dianne G. Landicho, Executive Assistant to the President; Marlene J. Hernandez-Bohn, University President; Ms. Elvie E. Pita, Innovative Learning Section Head; and Ms. Alona C. Perez, Information Systems Coordinator.

From the 17 competitive entries that sparked this journey, we have narrowed the field down to the 6 best no-code applications that truly define student ingenuity. As we move forward, we carry the torch of innovation into the next 80 years, proving that with the right vision, the future is ours to build.

Eight decades of shaping minds and building futures. Thank you for being part of our journey towards excellence in education.
