Finding the best university isn’t just about checking rankings or looking at brochures; it’s about finding a place that feels like home while pushing you to be your absolute best. This year, as the University of Batangas (UB) celebrates its 80th Founding Anniversary, we opened our doors wider than ever to show future UBians exactly what their future could look like.
Last April 23, 2026, the campus was buzzing with energy for BESTINATION, our signature open house event. It was a day of discovery, excitement, and many “aha!” moments for Senior High School students standing at the crossroads of their academic journeys.

More Than Just a Tour: An Immersive Experience at the Best University
The day kicked off at the UB Auditorium, where the UB family welcomed students and gave a rundown of the day’s adventures. But this wasn’t your typical, dry orientation. As soon as the sessions ended, the campus transformed into a massive career festival.

Students toured booths and exhibits from our nine diverse colleges:
- College of Allied Medical Sciences (Where Rehabilitation and Compassion Unite)
- College of Arts and Sciences (Empowering Minds, Creating Impact)
- College of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management (Elevating Business and Hospitality Excellence)
- College of Criminal Justice Education (The League of Justice Advocates)
- College of Education (Shaping Excellent Teachers of Tomorrow)
- College of Engineering (The Home of the Topnotchers)
- College of Information and Communications Technology (Maximizing Technological Capabilities)
- College of Industrial Technology (The Core of Technical Experts)
- College of Nursing (The Heart of Quality Healthcare)
Each college pulled out all the stops. From creative performances that filled the hallways with music and talent to immersive, hands-on simulations, the goal was to show that being the best university means providing a space where students can actually experience their future before they even enroll.
Moreover, the UB Distance Education also graced the activity. We know that the world is changing, and for many, the “best” way to learn isn’t always inside a traditional classroom. By showcasing our flexible, tech-driven distance-learning options, UB proved we are committed to meeting students wherever they are. Whether you’re looking for the full on-campus experience or the flexibility of remote learning, UB remains the best university choice by providing high-quality education that fits a modern lifestyle.

What Our Future UBians Had to Say
The best part of the day was seeing the confusion of “what do I do next?” turn into “this is where I belong.”
Nicole Matienza (Swiss Montessori School), shared that the event was a dream come true:
“Ang naging experience ko sa event na ito, mas na-encourage ako na dito pumasok sa University of Batangas since dream college school ko na rin ito.”
For Yce Balitaan (UBBC SHS), the day was all about exploration:
“The event is going great—the different booths from different careers and courses enabled me to immerse myself in different possible future opportunities.”
And Ashley Marquinez (Our Lady of Caysasay Academy) hit the nail on the head regarding why these events matter:
“Mas na-help yung mga students na ma-sure nila yung ipupursue nilang program… mas malaman ng isang student ang tatahakin nya.”
A Note from the Organizers
The BESTINATION Committee Chair and Dean of the College of Business, Accountancy, and Hospitality Management, Dr. Erwin Lumanglas noted that this event is all about clarity.
“We know most SHS students are still confused about what program to take in college,” the Dean shared. “This event, in collaboration with all of the UB colleges, is here to guide them in choosing the right path in just a few months.”
At the end of the day, that’s what the best university does—it doesn’t just teach; it guides.
